IC3 Digital Literacy Certification

IC3 Digital Literacy Certification program is dedicated to ensuring learners of all ages can not only navigate our digital world but thrive in it. It not only validates a learners’ ability to do more than simply consume technology, but it also enables them to comprehend the possibilities and form the foundational set of skills necessary to support our modern digital economy. The path to information and communication technology starts with IC3 Digital Literacy.

IC3 Digital Literacy is the starting point for learners of all ages who need to establish a foundational skill set of digital competencies. These are stackable credentials that can be implemented as desired to help learners build a set of skills that will remain useful throughout their scholastic and employment journeys. According to Burning Glass Technologies, these digital skills are required in 82% of middle-skill jobs.

Defined by the Global Digital Literacy Council and endorsed by the International Society for Technology in Education, the American Council on Education, the National Coalition of Certification Centers and dozens of other governments and authoritative bodies worldwide, IC3 is a global standard for digital skills. It has been mapped and utilized within forty-four career training pathways as one of the stackable sets of credentials that lead towards jobs that are actively sought by industry.

IC3 Digital Literacy works closely with the Global Digital Literacy Council, an advisory body of industry executives, technology educators, and assessment professionals, to collect data from job markets, educational ministries, governmental agencies, and international standard setting bodies, to ensure IC3 Digital Literacy is always at the forefront of what it means to be digitally literate.

IC3 GS6 (Global Standard Six) is the latest version of the IC3 Digital Literacy Certification.

1.1.  IC3 GS6 Level 01

Know: The Level 1 exam certifies that candidates have the foundational knowledge and basic competencies of Digital Literacy across seven competency domains.

1.2.  IC3 GS6 Level 02

Do: The Level 2 exam certifies a candidate’s ability to do essential tasks in an online environment and within core applications across the seven objective domains.

1.3.  IC3 GS6 Level 03

Lead: The Level 3 exam certifies a candidate’s mastery of digital literacy and their ability to manage systems, collaborate, and troubleshoot while providing guidance to others.
